The Bible: God’s Words to You is an 863-page, Reformed, presuppositional treatment of the doctrine of Scripture, including: inspiration, inerrancy, Reformation properties of Scripture, illumination by the Holy Spirit, Old and New Testament canon, apocrypha, and textual criticism. One of the unique features of this book is its presentation of the subject of bibliology from the perspective of the Biblical world- and life- view, along with a presuppositional approach to apologetics. The book teaches from Scripture itself, while still providing abundant, choice citations from the best Reformed and evangelical literature. The Bible: God’s Words to You includes a glossary, five appendices, and memory verses. One particularly useful appendix surveys the doctrine of Biblical inerrancy throughout church history, offering a litany of carefully-selected, well-referenced citations.

“I have carefully read Dr. Robert Fugate’s The Bible: God’s Words to You, and have found it to be a well-researched, well-documented, and very comprehensive treatment of the doctrine of Scripture. One of the unique features of this book is seen in its presentation of the subject from the perspective of a Christian world and life view, along with a presuppositional approach to apologetics. Herein the Reformed doctrine of the Word of God is taught from Scripture itself. The author’s study on the canon of Scripture and textual criticism are particularly helpful, and his analysis of the unbiblical presuppositions underlying much of faulty textual criticism is sorely needed. This work also includes a glossary and five appendices (one of which surveys the doctrine of inerrancy throughout church history), which are useful to the study of Scripture. I do believe that there is a significant need for The Bible: God’s Words to You, and I am hopeful that you will consider publishing it.” —

“Robert, it has been a joy to oversee your Ph.D. Dissertation, and I strongly urge you to get it published. There is a great need for a presuppositional approach to the subject of Bibliology, and your work would fill a major gap. Your most distinctive contribution is in the area of New Testament canon. It is great to have a well-researched treatment of the subject from a presuppositional approach. Your presuppositional treatment of Textual Criticism was also outstanding. While the whole thesis was a joy to read, the portions dealing with canon and textual criticism would make buying the book worthwhile. I hope it gets published and gets wide distribution.” —

Dr. Phillip G. Kayser, Ph.D.: pastor; professor; conference teacher

“Dr. Robert Fugate’s book is a presentation that deserves to be examined by Pastors, university and seminary students, and laymen. We are living in an age that finds the Holy Scripture under attack both from outside and inside the Church. Fugate reminds us how important the doctrines of inspiration, infallibility, and inerrancy are to maintaining our orthodoxy in the Evangelical and Reformed churches. His presuppositional/worldview presentation of the doctrines of canon and textual criticism are valuable and needed. The important issues are clearly on point and the church is in need of reaffirming our faith in the authority and sufficiency of the Holy Scripture for the Church of Jesus Christ, if we are to survive the 21st Century.” —

Dr. Kenneth Gary Talbot, Ph.D., Th.D., Ed.D., J.D.: president of Whitefield Theological Seminary

Dr. Fugate writes in a most engaging style, and he has a remarkable ability to make seemingly-complex topics clear to the lay reader. And the topic — the inspiration, inerrancy, and preservation of God’s Word — is of crucial importance today.

Dr. Fugate certainly is not the first person to write on the inspiration and inerrancy of Scripture, but he does so with a thoroughness and lucidity that exceeds any other work I have read on the subject (and as an apologetics professor I have read many!).

Dr. Fugate develops the case for the verbal and plenary inspiration of Scripture and for the inerrancy and infallibility of Scripture with meticulous detail. He proceeds logically and clearly, exhaustively presenting the Scriptures for each position and citing and quoting respected Bible scholars to support his position.

Dr. Fugate is far from the first person to make the case for the Textus Receptus and for the King James Version [the Majority/Byzantine Text—R.E.F.]. But he presents the case more clearly and more completely than any other author I’ve read.

Dr. Fugate’s magnum opus is a remarkable masterpiece — and you WILL be able to understand it. —
